Fittipaldi, grandson of double F1 Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, finished 17th in Sakhir and 19th in Abu Dhabi in 2020, and has since took part in practice sessions for Haas over the weekends of the 2022 Mexican Grand Prix and 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
